I’ve read all main 8 Bridgerton book more than once so here are my rankings of them from best to worst.

1. The Viscount Who Loved Me

The Viscount Who Loved Me is the second Bridgerton book and follows Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sheffield.

SUMMARY: Kate is detemined to find her sister a good match. But there’s one thing she’s sure of – it will NOT be Anthony Bridgerton.

This isn’t even a competition. Anthony and Kate have the best chemistry and the best overall relationship in the entire series. The rivals to lovers worked so well for them. The characters are fantastic on their own and their relationships with their respective families are so good. I also love how the book gets a little silly (the bees…).

2. When He Was Wicked

When He Was Wicked is the sixth Bridgerton book and follows Franscesca Bridgerton and Michael Stirling.

SUMMARY: Michael falls for Franscesca Bridgerton soon before she marries his cousin. Years later, Franscesca’s a widow and Michael is still as in love with her as ever.

Michael and Francesca’s chemistry is so good and Franscesca is one of the best female main characters in the entire series. I love that they had a bit of a different dynamic as Franscesca was widowed when they get together.

3. An Offer From A Gentleman

An Offer From A Gentleman is the third Bridgerton book and follows Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Beckett.

SUMMARY: Sophie Beckett is a servant that sneaks into the famed Bridgerton masquerade ball, where she meets and falls for Benedict Bridgerton. But when she meets him again, he doesn’t recognise her.

Sophie is easily the best female main character in the series. It was the first book that was set away from the rest of the Bridgerton family and it was nice to have something a little different. It could’ve been ranked higher if it wasn’t for the way that Benedict acted. 

4. On the Way to the Wedding

On the Way to the Wedding is the eighth Bridgerton book and follows Gregory Bridgerton and Lucy Abernathy.

SUMMARY: Gregory Brigderton has watched all of his siblings fall in love and is now desperate to find true love himself. He falls for Miss Hermione Watson but always ends up spending time with her best friend, Lady Lucy Abernathy.

This might be an unpopular opinion but I adore this book. Lucy was a lovely main character and it was a nice change of pace to have a Bridgerton man that truly believed in love and wanted to fall in love and get married.

5. It’s In His Kiss

It’s In His Kiss is the seventh Bridgerton book and follows Hyacinth Bridgerton and Gareth St. Clair.

SUMMARY: Gareth St. Clair needs an old diary translated from Italian in order to find his inheritance and the only person he knows that can do it is Hyacinth Bridgerton.

This book was so much fun because it was a little different because of the whole mystery element. It was nice to see more of Lady Danbury and I really liked Hyacinth but the relationship was nothing special and Gareth was kind of forgettable.

6. The Duke and I

The Duke and I is the first Bridgerton book and follows Daphne Bridgerton and Simon Bassett.

SUMMARY: Daphne Bridgerton has become too friendly with the men of the ton and now none of them want to marry her, so she begins a fake courtship with the Duke of Hastings to improve her reputation.

This book was just fine. The main storyline was interesting enough to keep you interested but it got a little bit boring after they got married and it could’ve been a little bit higher if it were not for the horrific SA scene.

7. Romancing Mr Bridgerton

Romancing Mr Bridgerton is the fourth Bridgerton book and follows Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington.

SUMMARY: Colin Bridgerton has just returned from travelling and discovers that nothing in his life is the same – especially Penelope Featherington.

Colin was charming and sweet in his siblings’ books but this one he was an insecure little man who blew up at Penelope often because he was jealous. The book also focused far too much on Lady Whistledown and Colin’s writing.

8. To Sir Phillip, With Love

To Sir Phillip, With Love is is fifth Bridgerton book and follows Eloise Bridgerton and Phillip Crane.

SUMMARY: Eloise Bridgerton has travelled to marry a man she has never met. But when she arrives, he’s not all he made himself out to be.

I feel so strongly about the fact that Eloise deserved a better relationship than the one she ended up getting with Sir Phillip. He was a horrible love interest who believed the perfect marriage meant never seeing his wife and just leaving her to look after his children. I also can’t look overlook the fact that he SA’d his first wife who was suffering from severe depression.
